In the past LED light bulbs were known to be expensive and have minor issues with light spread and color. However, these days they have come down quite a bit in price and the minor issues mentioned have long since been corrected by most brands. The lighting of all the bulbs suggested here are fantastic!

By switching out your current light bulbs with LEDs, you will save money on your electricity bill with a bulb that will last you years to come. They tend to be well-built and quality since you won’t be replacing them for a long time! Depending on the amount of lights in your house, you could be missing out on some nice energy savings. It’s also a nice feature that these are made of a plastic and not glass, so you never have to worry about shattering.

I will be listing what I consider to be the best led light bulbs according to their incandescent watt equivalents to make choosing the right bulb a little easier.

60 Watt Equivalent LED Soft White Light Bulb 8-Pack by Cree

Cree LED light bulb

If you’re just looking to replace some existing light bulbs with a comparable, extremely affordable LED version I highly recommend this 8 pack. These are as standard as LED light bulbs come, UL listed and are dimmable. They’re on the list because of the great customer service and dimming capabilities. Even better is the fact that these ARE capable of being used in enclosed areas, which some LED light bulbs struggle with due to heat issues. Click here to read the full review

Further Thoughts

My main criteria for choosing these lights was the price and features they offered. I personally do not used dimmable lights as my house doesn’t have the switches, but for those of you that do it is a huge selling point to be able to get bulbs that are dimmable. It’s a nice feature that really doesn’t add much to the price.

I also took a preference to packs being sold rather than individual bulbs, because it’s more savings for you. The only exception is the 100 watt bulb since it costs a little more than the lower watt bulbs. If you need more than one, a four pack is available.

Also important to consider when purchasing an LED light bulb, is the UL listing and Energy Star compliance. This is an assurance of the products safety to install in your home and any LED bulb should meet that standard. I would not recommend any products that do not have the UL listing!

Lastly, I consider it a huge selling point if a manufacturer provides a good warranty on their product. It means they not only have confidence in what they are making to not be defective, but also to have focus on making the customer happy. Too many companies overlook how valuable customer service can be these days.

I hope that you find this article informative and can now get some great LED light bulbs to put in your home!
