The LED Pen Light that you’ll barely notice in your pocket
The Streamlight MicroStream LED Pen Light is one of the best, if not the best LED pen flashlights around. It is very small and yet still packs a punch when it comes to brightness. With O-ring seals on every opening, it is also designed to be waterproof. My favorite part of this light though is that it is powered by a single AAA battery, because a lot of pen lights use C-cell batteries (typically used in watches) that are hard to find and easy to lose because they’re so small.
Here are some specifications:
Brightness: 28 lumens
Battery life: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Beam distance: 52 meters
Candela beam intensity: 683 candelas
Why this LED pen light is great
The biggest advantage the MicroStream has over other led pen lights is that it’s built with durability in mind. The housing is made of aluminum, not plastic. The lens is rated as being unbreakable and scratch resistant polycarbonate, and every opening is O-ring sealed. While I’m not sure that any lens is ‘unbreakable’, it sounds like you would actually have to try to break this one.
And as with any pen light, the MicroStream is tiny. It only weighs in at 1.04 ounces with the battery inside it! It is also only 3.5 inches long, with a diameter of .6 inches. It makes for a great pocket flashlight as it’s so small you would barely notice it. Or great for a toolbox, back pack etc.
The LED inside it is rated for a lifetime use of 30,000 hours, which you will probably never hit the limit of. The battery life is also great at two hours and 15 minutes, which should last a long time for intermittent use.
Don’t waste your time with cheaper led pen lights. This one might be a little bit more expensive than the super cheap competitors, but it offers so much more. Even if you managed to get one for half the price of this one, you’d probably have to buy another one in a month!
Here’s a great video review:
The Streamlight MicroStream LED pen light is a great buy. With solid construction, good battery life and plenty of brightness it will definitely suit whatever purpose you might have for a small flashlight that you can carry with you every day.
There may be cheaper competitors out there, but this is one of those cases where you get what you pay for. The quality of the MicroStream is impressive and sure to be a great buy that will last you for years to come.
